London CAMHS Tier 4 Inpatient Commissioning Review

Report by Ragnhild Banton, April 2008.
The purpose of this document was to review the arrangements for the commissioning of inpatient Tier 4 beds in London. It makes recommendations about how the planning and purchasing of this high impact, low volume, high cost service can be improved in order to achieve better outcomes for children and young people, and to provide best value for money for London PCTs.
The review was initiated following recommendations in the London Tier 4 review and has been led jointly by the London Specialised Commissioning Team & the Care Services Improvement Programme (CSIP), reporting to the London Specialised Commissioning Group. The review took place between November 2007 and April 2008.
